WIP - Ford Mach II
-
Well, I found some very rare blueprints and decided to build it. It is a one off Ford concept to replace the Thunderbird. It is largly based off the Mustang and even shares many components with it.

It seems people are not interested in this topic. Why not?
Come on people, its a very nice car......Any way, here is an update
-
Come on, people, there are so many car modeling fans here, please, comment your "colleague"!
(I like your car - I just cannot really comment it since I never make cars)
-
(Yeah, we need some more comments on this forum)
I've found some car models on your website Rogue...
Looking good!Looking forward seeing some renders.

Amazingly this topic went off my radar, i don't know how i missed it.What is there to say ,that this is gonna be a very cool model like the others you made. And i never heard of this Ford Mach II I know of Ford Mustang Mach II. And just have patience and update often, i also don't get many replies when i post sci fi stuff, and i have to wait for days. I guess the problem is that everyonae has different interests and different knowledge of modelling. I wouldn't know what to point out at this stage in your build as should be improved or a bit off, or any advice.
Keep up the good work. -
haha...oh i'm interested....just sitting here watching and impatiently waiting for updates keep em coming..looking good so far..

How are you drawing this? It looks as though your planes are triangulated already.
Are you drawing it with the sandbox grid? -

Are you drawing it with the sandbox grid? No, I am using simple poly modeling (as some times reffered to)....there is a simple set of video tutorial after the jump: http://cid-4a6ec86d99895c84.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/SketchUp%20Files/Tutorials.zip

Here is a quick update:
Progress includes:
Front window and trim
Rear window and trim
Rear lid and vents
Rear Bumper (Basicly(just using the outline for the poly's arround it))Overall progress is about 15-20%
If anyone can find a really good refference image of the mag wheels for this car that would be great, I dont know what theay are called.
Thanks all for the comments.

Found on the net that this car should have been the concept for the mustang mach II, maybe you should change the thread's title, cause it would be easier for people to search for it as mustang mach 2 on google.
And about the wheels, they look very similar to the 1971 Mustang Mach 2 you can probably adapt them. -
ATTENTION
U people are too lazy!! U ask ever and ever how u do that? But u never start to do something like that.
When we say that we use Line tool for making those nice shapes u say that is taking to much time.Well yes is taking time but it s worthy.
Happy sketching!Elisei

i fully admit that i am extremely lazy

What do you mean.... I think it's accurate

Ok, back on topic. Here is a small update: Wheel is done http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=9953278cb95d5430fabe8c1aa46d45a
Sitting at 5928 poly's

I think what ely means it's that in the original the dark part is not a hole it's black painted metal
-
Well from what I can tell its the brakes. I have studied these wheels a lot and have a clear idea of what they look like
-
After all they are of a concept car so they could be the way you made them...but they look flimsy even for modern wheels which use some what better techniques.
-
this is what u have to do
