ruby scripts are great! and they really make SketchUp the mighty tool we all love.

but with all the different rubies, SketchUp gets rather complicated. our wonderful scripters do a great job in making these scripts as easy to use as possible. but nevertheless often they still feel like... well, like an add-on.

in addition to that, all the new menu items (for example in the context menu) can become quite confusing.

therefore I would like to collect some ideas of how these scripts could be simplified and entirely implemented into the native workflow of SketchUp.

suggestions for easy to achieve changes are as welcome as simple dreams (for we never know, if we get more freedom with SU7 πŸ˜‰ ).

      ok. I will start:

the OnSurface Tools occupy a big part of my toolbars.
when fredo eventually has implemented all of the native SketchUp drawing and manipulating tools in his list (there are not many left anymore πŸ˜„ ), I would love to see a toogle button, that switches from the native SketchUp tools to the OnSurface tools, using the same buttons (only that the buttons change their appearance slightly to indicate, that they are in OnSurface mode now). thus we can get rid of one whole set of drawing- and manipulating-buttons.
(I asume that we do not have the freedom of changing the native toolbars of SU yet. but for that one could create a cusom toolbar that, when OnSurface is switched off, simply links the buttons to the native SU tools. we close the standart toolbar and open this new one istead).
by the way: in OnSurface mode, the push/pull tool is replacet by JPP πŸ˜‰

the Extrude Lines script lets you select lines and then go to the plugins menu, chosing extrude lines. I would like to see this function implemented in the normal push/pull tool.
the pus/pull tool works like it always did. but when only lines have been selected beforehand and you choose the push/pull tool, it will extrude these lines.

the Global Material Changee will work in future by simply draggin the new material onto the icon of the old material. you will be prompted to accept the changes and thats it (you dont have to choose it from the plugins menu anymore).
