its a continuation of my series memories of hanoi.

      http://i334.photobucket.com/albums/m421/nomeradona_1234/globalwarming_final-1.jpg

-the door was a photograph and i have to do the modelling in su direct on the photograph. then i applied the whole map (projection) on the modelled door.
i added bump also unto it.

      • water: i used sandbox and smoove too. so that its not flat. i also used the water texture of silver shadow he shared in his eyecandy.
      • broom was also modelled from photo. but i have to use post processing on the hairy part.
      • finally the soft shadow is using sun vray physical size of 3.
      • added a slight "diffuse glow" on top in PS.

            Smooth Nomeradona,

Work the door action, and bring it.

It's this process that matters, the slam dance of creation, rather then the results -- however here... pure a cold one as it's a magic lamp of "it."

            I'm wondering about 09041025?

You might be interesting in looking into the 78 -- a muse from another place, that "kicks it fine with the here and now."

Bring that action home and sweep the mind for freedom.

            Durant "orbit of rendering..." Hapke

                This one is truely poetic.

Quite some subtle style you are developing, Nomer.
πŸ‘ Keep those good images coming.

(I wish I had a bit more time lately to do some stuff myself ...)

thanks guys from your comments and critics. really appreciate them. as for the modelling, indeed i still need to funnel my energy unto it.
just a background with the above. its my neighbourhood in hanoi. I stayed on this old village before in which the alley are like maze. during the heavy rainy season, all drainage go to this man made lake and sometimes flashflood. so some alleys were get inundated. lucky we have all this network of alleys and still manage to go in and out.

Those numbers. I took a lot of photograph, for me they are one of the thing that you can find in vietnam alone. They are actually advertisment. so if you need their service you have to call that number.

what is this all about. i should say, i am looking for an avenue to express my memories and my feelings towards some issues. I really hope that i can make an art thing out of it using 3dsketchup and 3d rendering engine as my media. in 6-8 months i am planning an exhibition here in saigon. i dont know if the above will be included. who knows they will be. for the meantime i am enjoying doing this.
kwist. you always motivate me with your comment, thanks.

actually the door was modlled from a photo and the texture was projected to the modelled door. i found sketchup really handy with that.

I rerendered the image. this time added some floating rubbish. made the water more brownish.

I dont know.. the first is much more convincing for me.. i think the trash takes away from it.. although, you would definitley think it would sell the water more.. the first image is just beautiful! i've always wanted to try this technique.. modelling from photo and projecting it right on..

thanks mark. yeah sometimes that rubbish fight attention with the main focue, nevertheless, i think ill just put it that way, perhaps just personal prefernce.
i think one of the power to quickly good realistic model is really modelling from photo and projecting the image with it. the only downside is when you see the projecting image on the side. but if you have another texture of the side it doesnt matter then. if you will view the eyecandy of silvershadow, most of the model was done on this same. Just look how he carefully traced the coble stones, shich he said he took him some hours of doing it.
