Changing Drawing Template

I am making building for Google Earth. When I stated the whole process I forgot that the Drawing Template was set to 3D mm. I want it in 3D feet. But when I go back to change the units, the model unit will not change. I am changing the unit in Window / Preferences. Is this the right place to change the unit?

Window - model info - units.

Also, after changingit in the model info, the model itself won't get bigger. So you will need to scale it properly (like 300 something X)

Thanks, I mix up Preferences and Model info time to time. They both change units but in a different context.
