Trim group/component?

Is it possible to trim a component/group? Or are there any plugins that can do the job?
I'm thinking of a feature like in Autocad. I realy miss this function i Sketchup!!

We might be thinking of different sorts of trim, as i dont use autocad, but you can quite easily intersect a component with a plane and the delete the remainder.

Yes I'm aware of that feature!
But I'm working on a grass field made of many faces i a component. And its VERY slow to cut it the way you explain. Thats where I miss a function where I can draw a cut line and trim the part of the component on one of the sides of the line.
I can't be the only one that would find this smart!!

If you are "trimming" grass components, you will probably end up with some unbearable edge/face count in your model. As grass is (most of the time) not shown from very close, it may be wise to use png images with alpha transparency like in this grass component.
Note however that this can also be a bit heavy to use all over the place so you might want to put it onto a separate layer and only turn its visibility on when exporting images.
