LOACTING MY MODEL IN REAL SPACE
-
Hello all, I am indeed a newbie here. Maybe I just havent figured out how to us the search properly but I cannot find out how to position my building at the correct latitude/longitude.
-Using photo match I created my building...brought in a map from google earth...located it on the google earth map...created a bunch of scenes that animate the suns path and shadows passing over the building throughout the day. Since in my model the sun is setting at 6pm in July which is not true, I realized that sketchup doesnt understand the location of the google earth map. Is there some sort of city locater in sketch-up? I thought there was when I tinked around with the program sometime ago. Any help would be grate! Thanks in advance!

Go to Window/Model Info/Location.
This is in SU Pro. I believe in SU Free this is not available (unless it was added in the last update)
If you are using the free version, there is a Ruby available to give you this function. I will try and locate it.Edit: Jims Location script is available here:

You just copy the script (*.rb file) into the Plugins folder of your SU application. Hopefully you have access to the Program Files folder.
Then you can run it from the Plugins menu in SU (you will need to restart SU).
