Is there a way to change the default export units from decimal to architectural?

Theres probably a better way of doing it, but you can go window->preferences->template and choose a starting template in your units of choice.

Once youve done that, select all your geometry and copy it across in to a new file, this should then export in the correct units.

The DWG export uses exactly the same units you are using to model with. The units can be changed on the fly from the Window>Model Info>Units pane. No need to export, copy over etc. Your model and the "real world" stay in sync.
