Hi everyone, great forum, been lurking, but first time posting, this is a great forum and has helped no end! I have run into a problem with one of my building models,I have two floors, ground floor is grouped, andsecond floor is grouped, the 2nd floor needs to be scaled to match the width of the ground (dont ask why they're not the same!!) But when I go to scale the 2nd floor it scales in increments rather than 'smoothly', like I have some sort of 'snap' enabled, I havent had this problem before on any other model. I am also no good with VCB thats why I generally rely on being able to scale just using handles, but this is doing my head in! Hope someone can help! I have no idea! Again - great forum!

Cheers, Nick (ps have searched but turned up nothing)

        Hi Nick,

Good to see you making your first post πŸ‘

You can turn off snapping if you wish.
Go to Model Info/Units - here you can change the snapping distance and switch on and off.
It should scale to the floor below though I believe if you use the inference.

I tihnk i know what your talking aobut, and if you scale it really small first then scale it out again it should stop the snapping.

            Hi Nick,

Note that you can exploit the inference engine to do the job for you. After grabbing the right grip of the scale tool, you can snap to any corner of your ground floor group. See attached images.

            1) grabbing the proper grip

            2) scaling and inferencing with endpoint

Note however that unless your second floor is not just a hollow box (i.e. no wall thickness, no windows, furniture etc) it will scale everything proportionally and everything will be "distorted" in this way of scaling.
