Odd shadows

Can anyone help to explain these odd shadows that I am getting? I can't isolate them to a layer and am getting frustrated!

I think they are being cast on the "ground plane" not on your surface below. You can shut off casting shadows on the ground in the settings.

Yeah, it seems that your entire structure is somewhat "underground". You can also select all and move it up to 0 z value.
