Line styles

Is there a way to mix line styles? I have a brick wall that I pushed and pulled several of my bricks in or out 1" I like the subtleness of the bricks with the lines turnes off but I want the lines on the rest of the model on. See attacked images and skp.

There might well be an easy way to do this in SU, but i dont know it.

If this i just for final output, id say just export one image with just wall showing and the lines turned off, then export another image with the rest of the model and lines turned on. You could then easily combine these is a photo editing program.

I thought of that or going in and individually hiding the lines don't want but I was hopeing for a way to mix styles mostly due to the fact that I have come across situations in the past where I wanted to do the same, and I'm guessing I will come across it again in the future.

At the moment you cannot have different styles mixed in one scene. You could, however, make a group of your brick wall, go to wireframe mode while editing it, selecting all the edges easily and hide them. Then you close the group and even when going to Edit > Unhide all, the lines in the closed group won't unhide.

Does that mean in SU 7 I will be able to mix styles?

Not necessarily but you never know. This whole styles feature was introduced in SU 6 and this could be a way of developing it (me saying this as a non-programmer so I might be wrong).

If you are good with photoshop or other image-editing software there is a way to have lines & no-lines parts in the same final image. It involves combining two images into one. Separate out the parts of your model you want to have with lines using a group or layer. Temporarily hide that part and export a view without lines. Then unhide it but hide everything else and export with your lines turned on. Then combine the two images in the other software.

This approach works with different styles too. Another tip is to set a scene tab when you have the view you like because it will be important that both exports be from the same 'camera' position. It doesn't work so well if your two views don't match!
