I have som lines imported from cad and I'm having trouble adjusting the segments of the curve in the ellipse. As you can see it currently has 24. I need many more for it to look correct but SU will not let me change this. Could someone have a look for me?

      Thanks in advance

OK, now I'm having trouble attaching it. I'm getting an error saying my file is too large. I have double checked and its only 30kb

I dont think its possible with native US tools, but if youve got 22 dllars to spare, whaats subdivide and smooth ruby will do the job nicely. It does a load of other cool stuff as well, so worth the investment πŸ˜„ I'll stop extolling the vitues of whaats script now and let you get on with doing something more useful πŸ˜„

Strange why it will not post.
You could always pm it to me and I will try uploading it.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve until I see the file, but if you want an elipse with more segments, what about drawing a circle and using the scale tool? You could probably match it up to the imported cad lines.

You can only set the segment number of native SU circles, arcs and polygons - and even this only until you affect (modify, add walls etc) to the entity.

The problem with CAD exports is that the circles/arcs do not come through as circle/arc entities (not even as a continuous polyline) so you cannot modify them later. The only solution is what Dylan says; draw a circle with your custom segment number) and resize it to fit to your needs. Now you have the circle entity and can delete the original ellipse (yes, this method is very cumbersome).
