I got an issue here. I am modeling this curved and battered wall for abuilding and I am trying to cut a window hole thru it and then use WINDOWIZER to fenstrate it. The first one is fairly simple by pushing a solid rectangle thru>>doing intersect with model and then erasing unwanted Geometry. the problem comes in trying to make rotated copies about the arc center point. the edges don't correspond well and therefore will not cut properly. i have fussed with this for a while and it seems laborious and unsuccessful. Any tips on a better way to accomplish this? See sketch attached>

      thx,

      David

Hi there, using Entity Info I would alter the number of segments per curve used to construct the facade to correspond with the number of windows you need.

Given the example you pictured, you could have 4 segments per window plus 1 segment per dividing wall that 5 windows x 4 + 6 = 26 segments.

After extruding or building the wall you would then cut the window holes and create a flat face within them to allow Windowizer to work.

Changing the number of segments in Entity Info does not change the shape of the curve so the facade would cosmetically remain the same. More segments would give you a smoother curve.

        Hope this helps.

I can't figure out why this thread is in the Podium forum so I'm moving it to the main SU Discussions if you don't mind...
