      I have a newbie question.
      I am a chief architect and AutoCad user. I have a plan im working on that I want to import to sketchup. I used the import DWG option in sketchup but the scale is all wrong. Before I make things worse is there a specific way to scale the drawing?
      Sketchup says the dimensions are correct but i have bryce in there and im pretty sure he is taller than a doorknob

        When importing from autocad files there is an option button to set the appropriate units. Make certain it's set correctly.

          Best to try and get the model in the right units to start with, but if that doesn't work you can use the tape measure tool to rescale the entire model. You do it by using the tape measure to measure a known distance, you then enter the known value in to the VCB and press enter, SU should ask you wether you want to rescale the model, just click yes.

              hi,
              in Sketchup import --> click the 'Options' button;
              this allows you to set the units for import.
              If an ACAD drawing is drawn in 'inches', Sketchup will import to correct scale even if you've set your import units to 'Meter'.
              However, if your ACAD drawing is drawn in 'unitless', then Sketchup will take 1 unit in ACAD drawing as whatever unit you've selected.
              Hope this helps. πŸ˜‰
