Hello,
My name is Evan/nowledge, I am new to sketchup and obviously this forum. I am currently using it with Skitch, a intuitive mac drawing and exporting tool, just to see if I can't create something interesting.
I have a degree in CAD, it's a couple years unused but it definitely stirs an interest in seeing what people are doing with this slightly similar tool.

You should be learning fast if you have CAD background. We have created a "Getting Started" package where you can acces most of the help documentation and video tutorial collections. -

This program is amazing, still on the first day and finally have some time to mess around with it. It has almost every basic tool I depended on in a CAD Environment.
