Drape tool problems

I've attached 2 jpegs showing the issue.
I draped a site plan over built topography and 3/4 of the plan is hidden.
Is there anyway to fix this?Also, in the 3rd jpeg i always get what i would call a landslide when dealing with tight contours. anyway around this?

Hi Fred,
How do you perform the draping operation? Do you drape the whole geometry onto the terrain in one (maybe as grouped)? It is most probably layered (from the imported CAD drawing), could you try to drape the geometry layer by layer? To me it seems that the drape tool somehow has its limits at certain cases.
