How do you make lights in kerkythea?
-
I'm currently working on Kerkythea and was hoping anybody could help me with lighting. I would like to add light to my car models
-
Menu Insert / light Omni etc...
-
I mean like for headlights.

Have you seen any of the tutorials available..??
If not, I encourage you to do so... -
Hi Ray,
I don't know whether there are better ways but in the image in this post I used a pointlight inside the lights (to make them light) AND a spotlight in fron of them to cast the light ahead. (The image is quite dark because I was actually playing with these light settings.)
JNote that a cars headlights are not simple table lamps you use for reading - I had to turn up the multiplyer to extremely high.
Also, for the yellow signal and re back lamps you cann assign self luminance (light emitter as a material) but be careful with it because it may boost your render time. The best is to add self luminance but uncheck the "emit light" (or what) box. This way they will llok like they are emmitting light but actually they don't.
Some terms that I use above may not be correct since I have no Kerky on the office machine I'm writing on at the moment but basically...

I tried it but the render time increased a lil bit. Do you know anyway to make the render time to go faster?
-
It all depends on the complexity of the scene, the number (and kinds) of light you use, the materials (different maps) you apply, the preset you use and the custom settings you apply. There's no "one good way".

Thanks i tried it and it all worked
