    Hi,

I am new to the group... I have been using SketchUp for a few months - I use the professional Version on a Dual Core Processor running Windows Vista Ultimate with 2 Gigs of RAM.

Since installing SketchUp on this machine I have never had the selection boxes show?
A more recent bug is that when I start a new file the inference engine shows - but when I open an existing file with a number of components (I design commercial and domestic kitchens) neither the inference engine or the selction boxes show.

This bug extends to the 'scale' and move tools, etc, where, when I click on a component and try to move or resize it, the scaling nodes or rotating crosses do not show.

I maintain the machine reguralary and have tried both repairing and reinstalling the program - but the bug persists...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

There may be bugs in Windows Vista, disable OpenGL or update your driver

            Stephen,

While disabling hardware acceleration may be a temporary solution, it actually is a diagnose of your video driver not working properly with Vista and SU. Therefore you should try to update the video driver and see is it works with hardware acceleration on because if it does, it can speed up SU's performance once you come to a bigger model.

            Gai...
