hey guys, we are working hard on SketchUp7 and we are confident, you will love it. but dont expect anything before next spring...
-
I was only joking
I did not know that date.
But now everything matches. -
-
and they have gone to sleep then until February
truth aches -
a silly question, it was looking for the answer to all these mnsajes and I could not find.
the SketchUp 7 shall remain free, at least one version? -
I am pretty sure that it will have a free version - that's why Google bought the company/product.
-
Actually I think it makes perfect sense to have a free version. Because it is so easy to use, it is really popular with students, and anyone can have access to the same modelling tools as the professionals. It's also the easiest way of getting content into Google Earth, which could be the most comprehensive and accessible marketing tool the world has ever seen.
It doesn't seem logical to stop the free version.

Hopefully, they won't stop the free version.. I'll only use sketchup if it remains free "the free version"..

Watching the NEWS these days, makes me think, they should hurry up the with release before there aren't any Architects left to sell it to.
Alas, now in the Emirates lies the architectural PARADISE

I agree, I'm still waiting for Sketchup 7 too.
-
I guess its paradise if you like what they're pushing for.

This is just a guess, but I am pretty sure Aidan has a new Sketchup book coming out in the next couple of months, and if history repeats than SU7 comes out within a week of its launch.

Cool, if couple means 2, then Sketchup 7 should arrive in 3 months?

I'm not being critical, I'm only sharing the Gospel Truth. Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship with Jesus.
Like ex-smokers and ex-fatty's religious nuts just HAVE to tell everyone how fantastic their life is now and use the smallest excuse to try and convert anybody within earshot.
Like we don't already know we should quit and eat more healthy, yes you simpleton we all know the bible exists, we have heard the Jesus myths, yes your life is just so great after you quit/lost weight/converted .... blah blah blah..... now STFU!!!

Oh, Well - I did my part in trying to share the Gospel of free salvation, but men do have freewill - but in the end, there's consequences.. For now on, I'll post gospel tracts in 3D on the 3D warehouse. To further spread the Gospel truth that Jesus is real. ~John 3:16. Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship with God through Jesus. It's your choice..

My 11yo son has a hard time knowing when to shut his mouth to stop people hating him too. 3 brownie points for mpowell1234567890 on his score card to get into heaven. You did your part, you tried and people hated that you did.
Let me guess, you take your bible and stand on a street corner in the city on Friday night's babbling on like a loon "THE LORDS SALVATION, REPENT REPENT REEPENNNNNNT!!!!" while people just walk straight on by. Do you want to know what people think about those guys? One of three thoughts:
- He is a freak,
- He is mentally unstable,
- I feel sorry for the guy, everyone thinks he is a freak or mentally unstable.
I am starting to have the same thoughts about you.
Any hoo... back to the SU7... I just hope that they have a native Linux version so I can dump "Bill's BS OS", though from what I have heard it doesn't seem likely. Using OpenGL instead of DirectX would make it easier, that's for sure.

nevertheless I would like to see the DirectX version, just to know, what grade of realism we can achieve.
I allways ask myself: "why do these computer games (crysis, farcry...) have such superb grafic in real time and you still can manipulate (shoot) objects? and why can't 3D modellers produce comparable images?"well, the answer to my question would probably be, that firstly it is a matter of interest, secondly a matter of finances (why should google employ a hundret people to improve the graphic, when the main focus is modelling and there are loads of bugs to be fixed still) and thirdly because the textures are mapped perfectly to every object in the game worlds and therefore optimized for a good realtime graphic.
nevertheless I would very much like to see a DirectX version

Direct X capability will definitely get my Vote, unless, someone would bother to update "open Gl" to an extent that kicks ass.... ... and MS to OBLIVION
