Sketchup to 3d max

What is the best way to convert skp to max file?
I have problem with tilled textures! -
As far as I remember (since I'm not sitting at my Pro version with export functions) in the options dialogue you have a choice to either preserve UV maps (which you should to export your textures well) OR veld vertices.
I know that it's a painful decision - you have to "sacrifice" either one.
