...photo real action is not that fun, ...then people say, "Oh, that's Jack action bird fake... I think it's done with the computer."
most people don't want photo-real anyway, they want "art-isti-real" and in this you are already excelling... don't let the "real" part side track your creativity... it has killed many an artist... but I believe you will emerge victorious and in a style that you own.

Brothers and Sisters,
Not to beat around the hog barn, yeah, I've been orbiting the Jack bird Tarot -- the seventy eight -- the mirror -- the pathless path.
The future?
Booze, Camels, and spring loaded curves -- bring it, baby -- that's what the cards show me.
I'm into the Page of Cups at the moment -- "Oh, yeah, I talk to the little flippy flip here in my golden beer -- it makes me ponder... coitus? Sure, and bringing the Jack bird new."
Dreams tell me to challenge convention... Both societies, and my own.

Brothers and Sisters,
Yeah, I did have a flash of insecurity about the "dark side," or the devil being to big a part of this robot box brain...
The devil says:
"Ahhhh!! You see this bucket of severed bird heads? Yeah, I'm going to set them into your skull as teeth!"
"Your mouth will forever be filled with retched chirps and boil with horrid screams!"
"Ahhh... I exceed your worst nightmares with ease, I'm the black hearted Mephistopheles who knows your secret name, and without hesitation, I will write it in bone chalk on the blackest black-bellies of the blind fish who swim in the foul pools below Hades!"
Blah, blah, and on, and on -- rocking bring that action -- Mister Bird Puss.
Or something like that.
But I feel this box is safe to share.
This brain of the robot variety could entertain like a mechanical whee-lo toy... but just as easily take your Jack bird eye out...
Be careful, but enjoy.

Now that is a happenin thang, Mr.DH. It appeals to my sense of order, whatever that is.
Love the 'hammered metal' and the :dayglow' plastic. If I may criticise somewhat? I may?, thank you...
...I feel that the shadows need to be darker and possibly crisper without altering the chroma and brightness of the image both which look very good. It would give it a bit more solidity methinks. Also, the background is disapointing, bland might be the word. What about some skulls?, garbage? a gradient?, a window as a light source?, anything really but that grey limbo. And where is the electrickery? A mean looking power supply coiling off to infinity could give us poor mortals some idea of where the real power is coming from.baz
ps: I'd want to bolt that mother to the floor, tho' it looks like it might fit in a daypack for handy portability. It does pack up? Like to see that.(But now I think of it, you're fond of skids, n'est pas?)
Also you might use better hinges, those look cheap, cheapskate
pps: If this was my artwork, I'd probly tell me to piss off, you can too -
Brothers, and Sisters,
Baz is Bring it.
Slam good conceptions.
Whispers float around my bobbin noggin -- it's the deuce of fill it to the brim! -- Robot brain... And Gray!
I will kick it that the gray is void of action as I was thinking the seamless of it was quite ... boring, so yeah, I think it felt like a seamless, or a gray photo bit of paper.
Perhaps the Machine speaks loud enough to compensate?
The power sours is attraction.
Attraction?
Be it.
Be it.
Be the funk.

Is he an artist? or is he someone playing on his office computer, while he's supposed to be selling pork bellies?
Whatever, his intention is art and so it is.
Aesthetic criticism, unlike most real art has to come from non-emotional areas of the brain.

Brothers and Sisters,
Bring it.
Brother, B to the Az, your right about action, sharing is nearly all good.
I have a boiler gut when it comes to the outer world... With exception to a few important curves... Critical curves.
When I Jack bird say:
"Challenge Conventions," I don't just mean in regards to "the man" or the outer world... I mean bering that action inside.
What is keeping you locked up inside... Challenge that Jack bird action.
Don't be the little scared man inside... Plan your escape and chip way at it in every way you can, and then again in ways you didn't know you could.
Working in an office? ... I did a bit of that action... But it provided me a "pipe" down which I could see my future... And I didn't like what I could see.
I want a shifting kaleidoscope, not a drain.
Wow, this is all very Kung Fu sounding to me, one of my all time bust a cowboy action shows. That show is probably the greatest show from the seventies, very tripping the last season.
To bad about David Carradine... There's a dude who challenged some Jack action convention.
Bald bean Kwai Chang Caine all working his mind in a cave, thinking of weird dragon men and crap.
What a dude. He would love to hang with you, Baz, in a groovy wood bungalow.
Probably J V. Soler as well...

Brothers and Sisters,
Bring it.
I've been pouring and smoking a health bit the last few Jack bird days, trying to get my head around all this strange cable television action.
It seems the human story is just often limited... I know there is a lot of richness out there, but it seems so few think about getting it on with that action...
I have been thinking and saying "challenge convention" a Jack bird lot for a lot of long time.
However, I can't say what that means... It's a very personal kind of a deal...
Bring that.
So, yeah, there is this on meat puppet that's trying to "abandon ship" as it were, and he's been hanging around by this culvert that runs under the road down by this creek that ain't that far from the Cat and the Fiddle. I head down there from time to time to clear my head and pull a smoke.
Anyway, I traded this "big noggin" an old VHS tape of New Wave Hookers for some plans of a little antigravity device...
Don't have all the materials to construct it -- but have -- as you all know -- I have been constructing a model of it.
Here then is a bit of an operating test.

Working on all kinds of Jack bird color action.
Yeah, that's what it's all about -- this robot takes crap from no one -- his are the colors of machine matting.
Reality (God) = 00, & 00 = 2.
I'm growing... A new robot genital.
This is a much longer story, but it starts with this construction.

Brothers and Sisters,
So, yeah, I posted this action over at the HyperShot dance floor, but am feeling filled with anti-complacency, so am reposting here for the slam dance original SU gangsters.
Bring it, and be it.
I'm all the mad future action today.
What my action will look like in the days and weeks ahead.
Am I living it now, or just waiting?
Bring that.
Waiting is, this is my Jack bird thought, a good bit of a sin against ones self -- and I don't really understand the religious meaning of sin, but the concept of it in this regard seems to fit.
Why wait to let all that richness bubble up?
I'm thinking it's in each of us, but we let it go stale, and then it gets all thick and black, and tasteless.
Take this green test body... It's built to take your happiness away. Not by force, but just because you let it into you.
You get board, and that Jack bird feeling shifts, and spreads, and, BANG, your passion just trickles out... like blood.
And that's what others want from you, to see your inner god of sex creative just dissolve way so you will be like them.
Bring that action.
If you would, take a look at the kind of knee deal on the right hand side of this monstrosity -- the portion of leg that ends with a kind of lollypop looking bit of mechanical -- just up and left from the end of the left end of the stroke that runs through the 02.
I build my Jack action in Sketch Up and if you look at that lolly, you will see this kind of weird artifact in the geometry.
Kind of looks like a seam running from the center out... I see this all the time on curved surfaces and I don't like it.
What gives with that?
I don't get the entire tessellation deal, I hate that action as well, but I don't know what to make of this kind of weird artifact.
I see it all over and can only assume it come from something to do with sketch up.
Perhaps I can go smoke a few camels, come back and post a better example.
I hate very few things, but do hate this artifact.
The hated artifact.
It's like an old gland.
Any Jack bird thoughts on a solution would be a rock star bit of slamming.

dh,
could it be this extra bit of geometry from a 'follow me' or similiar, showing thru?

Thats it, if you have a face intersecting a smooth face like that you will always get a visual artefact like you are seeing.

not sure if this is what you're talking about, but... I figure you know, but maybe just to check:
when you click the circle or arc tool in SU before starting to draw the arc or circle type 48 and hit enter for circles, it's default is 12 segments. 48 will give much smoother circles for renderings. Arcs look better at 24 than default 12... even better at 36. Don't go too crazy typing in all higher numbers in there because it will seriously add to the size of the model.I think this can be changed to become the default behavior somewhere in SU's preferences.
