.skp files in layout

Do the .skp files imported into layout be generated by Sketchup Pro, or if they have they have been generated by the free version can they be imported directly. Are there any side effects.

the fish thing is a logo I did for a theatre company in Brighton called Rare Breed. I just mashed together 2 photos in photoshop.
