just reading a topic in the newbie forums got me thinking, if you have a component to model, where accuracy isn't a particular requirement, would you go for a less accurate but faster method for modelling it, or try and make it as it is in real life?

personaly id probably go for faster, altohugh if there's a considerable difference in the end result id probably go for a more accurte model.

and sorry if this is in the wrong forum, move it if you want.

        Hi folks.

If I just need to convey an idea, I wont bother with dimensions.

However, if modeling something real to check for feasabily for an installation or interference check for example, I will use exact values.

        Just ideas.

I think you should always model for accuracy. I have found too many times I have had to go back and change things after the fact and if I would have modeled accurately in the first place there would have been no need to. Accuracy saves time and money in the end.

I agree with Scott. Plus in the future if you have to revisit the model or expand on it you will already have an accurate model to go with.
