Fun 'Little' Project

...proposal (freebee) to do a proposal for a fundraising concept proposal:
-
wow! is all i have to say..these are awesome, tom. i love the slight slight transparency...i've tried this before and have never really been terribly successful...these are great though.
-
Thanks Jason...me too before with same questionable results (just can't quite get the Bajan to work for me), but since this one will likely die before fleshing it out entirely I tried again hoping to give the flat color areas some interest. Glad to hear I'm not the only one here to think it worked a bit.
The architect is happy, but not as willing as I to throw a bunch more free time into the project...so I may be finishing the design details for myself if it dies at this stage (and a pity it will be as he is a wonder!)

Tom, your images are always pleasing to the eye. This is great work. Thanks.
-
Tom,
I really like the colors you have used, they are softer and not so overbearing. These look great!
-
haha...i'll be totally honest and say that i am not always a fan of the bright bright colors you use Wink otherwise, they're beautiful...i guess i have sensitive eyes. cant wait to see if this progresses..
-
...you mean like this? (my trees still need a bit of a bland applied in SU):
-
Thanks Tom, I enjoyed viewing. The sky in the
second pic is spot on.Mike

Added a sculpture to the fountain (anybody seeing the wharf theme :`). The water didn't work out too well...I'm thinking some texture on the wall behind is needed to give the filters something to interact with. Any other hints to DWC work it better?
-
maybe export the background minus the water and then the water on its own and adjust the transparency in pshop?
-
A bit more colorful, but still muted...enough? (Those windows are sure reflecting some wishful thinking, huh?, I will fix that :`) The fountain looks better to me, but I'm gonna try unhiding some of the edges...painting some dark some "white" for highlights.
But first I gotta finish this as-built of a little house...worse field measure job by an architect I've ever seen! (The client lady's dims close better than his...?) Talk about wishin' Friday was over with!
-
Tom, I have to agree with Jason, I too wasn't much of a fan of the bright colors, but you nailed this one! I even went back and took a second look at all the images...very, very well done. Contrast and tone are wonderful and very pleasing to the eye.
Great job!!
-
Okay, beat this image up pretty good...thanks for the interest and advice! I did a little better with the water I think (still a long way to go...bunches :`) but I'm pleased with something else I tried: Ross' cut out and add at the windows, but instead of using a blend underpainting thingy I used stretched pieces of the same sky background.
Whadaya think?

You're a great artist Tom, the colours are very easy on the eye. It looks like a very large project, can you tell us more about it? At first glance your 'wharf theme' with the fountain looks a bit like a sewage outlet marker bouy with bell Then again you may have a different system of beacon and bouyage in your neck of the woods. The degree of list on it shows that there is a fairly strong current in that area. Can you tell us where it will be situated if approved? Thanks for sharing Tom, I think this is the place to be to see different achitecturel ideas from other parts of the globe.
Thanks Tom,
Bill.
