Position texture

Is there a way to reposition a texture on a curved surface? I know how to do it on a flat surface but I cant even get the diolog box to come up when the surface is curved.

- turn on "hidden Geometry"
- right click on the texture in one of the segments and the texture dialogue will com up
- Adjust the position of the texture on that segment as you wish and click "done" when finished
- In the texture dialoge make sure that "projected" is ticked
- "sample" the texture in that same segment now that it is properly positioned and defined as projected.
- Turn off hidden geometry
- paint the texture onto the curved surface.
