Is there a context menu script somewhere that allows you to move your selection (component, group, or raw geometry) from one parent component/group to another parent component/group?

no need for more context menu item clutter! ☀

CTRL+X to cut the object from one place

set up shortcut: Shft+CTRL+V = paste in place

open target component or group, paste in place with keyboard shortcut. 😉

Even if we did want more clutter, it is currently not possible to add existing geometry to a nested G/C via ruby. This is a known bug, awaiting resolution.

Well that's good to know (I won't try to cobble together a test then).

On a side note, even with the cut/paste option, I'd still have to have the Outliner open and dig through the tree.

The Layer Manager script does a good job at letting you r-click and quickly move contents 😄
