Most amazing renders ever !

Thanks for sharing, Chris.!
That sure is awesome renders...!!@kwistenbiebel said:
...but I think it has to be possible to achieve similar results by using Sketchup as a modeler.
Undoubtedly... If you have the right textures and know/understand how to apply them, it sure is possible, with any modelling application...

Solo, I am looking at you , I think modeling wise this is your cup of tea .
I wouldn't say "modeling wise" but more likely "texture wise" and again I agree that Pete (being the texture King) will be the first person I would believe is capable of achieving similar results...

Truly inspirational

These are excellent. Get to it, Pete. Work can wait.

nice renders! very nice texturing . I agree whit Frederick , that is a matter of texturing (and not modeling) .
does anyone knows free ( or not free) good UVW unwarper apps? -
Amazing! That is what I call texturing. The guy certainly knows how to use textures.
-
Thats some pretty sweet texturing he's got going there, impressive stuff indeed.
Majid, i think blender has a pretty advanced set of UV wrapping/unwrapping tools.
-
thanx remus , but i havent tried Blender ( just a short time) and it was confusing to me ....how can i learn it? any tuts?
-
My old friend google told me about thissite, looks pretty good although i ahvent had a chance to try any of the tutorials out yet.
-
Indeed,
The texturing is amazing.
Google Sketchup should definitely get a 'wrap texture around object'.
The current 'project texture' method just doesn't cover all situations and gives ugly distorted textures at tangential angles. -
I recently tried Blender as a portable application running from my USB drive in an attempt to see how easy it would be to work completely with open source software. I read that previously mentioned tutorial guide and another one made by someone who was an engineer to get me started on it. What I found was it seemed like the most simple tasks took some overly complex steps to achieve what I wanted to create. The interface is 'OK' but totally confusing compared to MAX and most of the commands are keyboard based with the annoyance that you cant configure the keys to your liking. Needless to say that I quickly deleted it as it was proving to be to much of a task to use; I say that its very un-intuitive as opposed to SketchUp, which is a shame really but other people may have a better experience with it than I did.

remus, the link doesn't work because there's no H at the beginning, so here's the correct one http://hdri.cgtechniques.com/~sponza/files/
