Oh my - printing to scale

I don't really get it. If I turn off perspective mode, I should be able to print to scale ?

I guess it talks about the ISO view there - and actually it works - but of course it's again one of the standard views. So I was mistaken when I was talking about "something else".

what more do you want? front, back, left and right should be more than sufficient for scaled drawings surely?

You would never be able to print a perspective drawing to scale anyway, whatever the software, because the whole idea behind perspective drawing is that things look smaller in the background, so nothing would be to scale.

at first i was going to make this point, then i realise that perhaps jorgensen was pertaining to being able to take scale elevations from the views between the standard.
with the exception of a ruby, i think the only way of doing this is (as previouslt stated) to re-orientate the axis.pav

Unfortunaely, re-orienting the axes will not work for printing to scale, you must rotate the model and use the default standard views.

When in TOP view, you can re-orient the axes to align your model. Not in a view of a non aligned side though.

Yes, when you change the axes, and go to TOP view, it will still align the view according to the original axes. You can however right click on either of the red/green axes and the view will be aligned. Now use the Model extent (or what) button to enlarge your model to full screen (or use pan to get a good view). It won't "destroy" the TOP view.

Hi there
I needed to print a facade that was not aligned to the axis. So I had to rotate the whole model. I find this quite annoying and see it as a missing function in Sketchup, even though it was the first time I needed it
