First test with Artlantis 2
-
This is my first test using version 2.0. It doesn't work as fast as version 1.26 but the new sky feature is really nice. The heliodon settings are a little different and take a little time to figure out. I still need to work on them. The new version is somewhat of a memory hog, so you need at least 2GB for the program to work. 4GB would be preferred.

Kevin,
Glad to see someone else is on this forum besides me.
Nice image. maybe some closer shots would be cool too. Also what shader are you using on your glass? It looks a bit flat.

Hi Scott, I agree with you my windows look flat. I am using the fresnel qlazing shader, but I don't have the distortion set right. I haven't had much time to work on it yet, but looking forward to working with it. Yes I was glad to see someone else using Artlantis too. I still like the program due to the render speed and while that speed is a little slower now, I believe the new changes are worth it for the quality.

Kevin,
Try using the neon glass shader for your windows. It is far more believeable but takes a bit longer to render. As far as render speeds go I agree it is slower but the best thing I can tell you is max out your RAM for still images and max sure you have the biggest video card you can afford before you even think of using animated poser models. The new sky generator makes this the best version yet. No more having to photoshop in a good looking sky.
I will be rendering more over the weekend. Hopefully I will be able to post more.

Good eye Coen.

Kevin,
Good start. You could try to make the building more impressive by lowering your camera and walk somewhat closer to the building. You will get more detail about the building.
Version 2 is indeed slower than previous version. Something that is common in the wonderfull world of software. Newer software, more features, higher quality demands memory and calculation power. In the case of ArtLantis it is a low price considering the improvement of quality.
