Well, here is my first full model. It was done just as my computer reached its limit of being able to handle the model. I can't complain. I think it turned out O.K. Took me roughly a total of 24 hours.

It's a budget garage apartment remodel. It stands on a 20'x20' slab and is 3 floors.

The 1st floor is kitchen, laundry, breakfast bar and under stair storage. The 2nd floor is the living room and "powder room." (small bath with sink and toilet only) The 3rd floor is the bedroom with full bath and walk-in closet. The stairwell is stacked in the back right corner and has landings and 90 degree turns.

I hope to finish the interior one of these day. I have the first floor almost complete. It is making for a good introduction to SketchUp.

Thanks to Alan Fraser for the wonderful background.

I forgot to mention that the model is missing the back and opposite side windows and has no interior structure.

It also has some flaws. πŸ˜„

(For those of you who have downloaded it already.)

        Hi Ecofeco
The model communicates the design well. It is quite good for a first model.

You mention Alan Fraser. Was the backdrop something of his from the commercial FormFonts site or something he shared at these forums (or shared elsewhere)? I ask because if they are from FormFonts you should edit your post to remove the .skp file since you aren't allowed to share FormFonts components with others. The same would go for the bench, tree, and flower components if they came from a commercial site. I really like those flowers. Are they from a source I could reuse in my own models?

        Keep up the good work!

        Regards, Ross

          Thanks!

The background was his from the "Components" Forum.
          http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=5879

The other elements (including the hanging flowers) are straight from SketchUp or 3DW.

The round windows on the side are mine as is the door, the main building, awning and fence. All materials for the building are from SketchUp.

Thanks for the information about FormFonts. πŸ‘

OK, thanks for the info, ecofeco. If you wish, upload the attachment again (you can edit your own post above and attach the file again).

And sorry for the misunderstanding and inconvenience - maybe we are too keen on copyright issues here. I'll also "un-edit" my comment in your post.

            Cheers

              No problem. I understand.

I've also learned more about the protocol around here. I appreciate that. πŸ‘

Oops. Sorry for the delay. I've had a really busy and tiring week.

Thanks Gaieus. I've uploaded the file to my original post.

                    Advice more than welcome.
