    I would like Captioned Thumbnails

At present, in drop down windows for Materials, Components, etc. we have a choice of displaying a list, or thumbnails of varying sizes.

Neither of these modes works very will for me, especially when my model has many similar, but different components. In thumbnail view they are almost impossible to distinguish one from the other. Hovering the mouse over the thumbnails is an annoying waste of time.

I would like to have thumbnails with captions displaying the name of the Component, or Material.

And, I would like to be able to identify a component in my model easily (By right clicking on it perhaps. The name of the component could be at the top of the list.)

(wait a while, I will think of more....)

    Thanks

There is a simple workaround to identifying components in the model and that is to use the Entity Info dialogue window.

Right click on a component and select Entity Info. The Definition Name will show in one of the boxes. Leave the Entity Info dialogue window open and click components to view their Definition Names. This is also a good way to change component names to ones that are more meaningful by simply changing what is displayed in the Definition Name box. The dialogue window rolls up if you click in the title banner. The rolled up dialogue window can then be parked out the way at the top for easy access.

      Regards,
      Bob

        Thanks for the feedback

I appreciate the information and advice.

As you say, it is a workaround.
I would still like to see a more direct, built in, approach to achieve those results.

        Thanks
        Steve
