Texture mapping?
-
Hi guys,
I know some of this "beginner" questions are bodering some of you, Still i hope to get a answer in the "newbie" subforum.
I was wondering if its possible to texture map in Sketchup it self, And how i can get a lower vertices/triangles count.
For example i have this small and simpel object:
http://kiranl.av-studio.eu/models/%5BKiraNL%5DDesignBenchStone.jpg
And the statistics of this one are:
Model Statistics
Vertices: 3901
Triangles: 2438
Groups: 4
Materials: 7
Joints: 0
Smoothing Groups: 1
Mins: 1.26 0.50 0.10
Maxs: 1.46 0.62 0.20
Center: 1.36 0.56 0.15So i wonder if theres any function or something to lower this count?

Regards,

Theres no specific tool that can lower the poly count, and unfortunately the only way to et the poly count down would be to re-model the whole thing, but using a low number of arc/circle segments.

As for texture mapping, the only tools SU provides are the "Position texture" and "Project texture". See details here.
Note that you cannot position a texture on groups/components (unless you enter their entity by editing them) and on curved surfaces (unless you turn on hidden geometry) but only on single faces (facets in case of curved surfaces).
