When inserting some jpg files, I get an "Insertion Failed" message which reads, "Not all of the specified content files could be inserted." Other jpgs I am able to either insert or drag over from Explorer, but these I can't. I'm starting with dwg files in ACAD, distilling them as pdfs and then saving them as jpgs using Photoshop. Not an elegant solution, I realize, but I'd like to include my plans along with the SU scenes in LayOut. The jpgs aren't particularly big - around 6M.

      Any sugegstions?

6M for a jpg sounds big. What's the resolution of those? I know GDI+
gives Layout problems loading files over a certian size. I would also
suggest using png instead of jpg for line-work image files since png
is lossless and won't produce funky compression artifacts.

Thanks! The plans are 30"x15". I was saving them as "highest quality" (I don't know what actual resolution that turned out to be), which was probably overkill. I reduced the resolution when initially importing the PDF in Photoshop from 200 ppi to 100. (The default 72 ppi still left things a little grainy) and saved as a PNG. One or the other (or both) took care of the problem. The resulting PNG file is only 500K and inserts into LayOut just fine.
