I don't know the proper term for this, but is there software that you can record you're action on the computer to use for an animation or video?

I want to draw something in AutoCAD or SketchUp and record as I'm drawing it, then after I'm done i want to speedup the recording to show a short animated vid of my drawing.

      I know it's possible, i just don't know what it's called.

      Any help is appreciated.

Essentially this is what i'm looking to achieve:

please tell me there is an easier way, than to "print screen" and paste in photoshop over and over and over again? and then create a .gif

i also downloaded camstudio, from http://www.camstudio.org and hopefully that'll achieve more of what i'm looking for... the wink program looks like it's for tutorials, i need something to record what i'm doing, and then speed it up to show a start to finish kind of thing.

Have a look at "Avi Screen Classic" [link], too. I've been using it for a while - nice app. (Freeware)

Camtasia Studio works pretty good imo

                    RE: Camstudio...

Can someone share what codec and setup they use for Camstudio? After recording I'm finding that the video plays fine in the Camstudo player, but when I import it into Premiere the playback flickers like crazy.

Multimedia essentials Codec pack covers any and all codec problems in Premiere for me as for normal viewing I would recommend VLC, it cancels all your codec problems and just plays video's without use of codecs.

I've had good success on the PC with both Camtasia Studio (multiple output formats) and Instant-Demo (flash output only).
