Sketchup + artlantis

Great start Mike. Join the club. I havent really tried artlantis but it is worth a while to spend some time on the render forum or the app You are using.Another tip those SU
cars will get better with practice but will never get too realistic in close ups. They can bring down the whole image. The alternative is to use cut-outs or buy high polly bundle models in other formats and render them separatelly or together. -
Looking good Mike.
You can find lot's of good objects that you can insert in Artlantis at http://www.archiradar.it/
The site is Italian but the download section is easy to find.
Try using the fresnel glazing material for your glass, you'll be amazed.I really love Artlantis for it's straightforward material assignment and incredible speed of rendering.

Hi Mike,
what AA-settings did you use? Looking at the cars I feel Artlantis can do this better than it looks here.
The windows look a little bit artificial to me. Maybe darkening the surface a bit might help ... in a kind of blue-gray if you like them to reflect the sky. Or playing with the other parameters for glass-shaders...Beside that you did a good start with your first Artlantis render, to my mind.
Cheers,

Mike,
It's a good start. I like ArtLantis a lot too for its speed and relative ease, but once you get the hang of its materials and lighting, I find getting rid of the characteristic a bit plasticky "Artlantis look" is somewhat challenging. Maybe it is mostly about texturing, the standard materials are not particularly good.

Looking good Mike.
I like Artlantis, I think it's pretty easy to use. I think you could add a bit of reflection to the cars and maybe put something in front of your model so that it will reflect in the windows.
Some people use the same model, make a component and rotate 180. Look forward to seeing your progress. -
here is a new updated image
i think its getting better what do you thinkmike d

I am diggin' those reflections.
-
The reflection on the road is a little strong. It looks like it just got done raining.
-
david
that is the effect that i was going formike d
-
neat!! run it thru Squirlz to get some drizzle and voila!
-
I was thinking the same thing about the rain. Maybe put some clouds in the background, like the storm front just passed.
Great work.

here is a revised image with the scene a little bit brighter and the rain gone from the parking lot
thanks
