remember when I said we should contact retailers about building their products in 3D and offering them to designers, engineers and architects?

well looks like it must have been a good idea...

It's not too late to form a group and do it now...is it?

I'm in if someone with more organisational and sales skills heads it up.

i would be in too, i think it's a great idea still.
there are many other companies that could use the service, not just the building industry.

Well, I've got the commercial website. I'm willing to do the organizing but I suspect we need a hefty group of modellers and each one dedicated specifically to a few product lines.
However, I thought the Google SketchUp was already doing this on 3D warehouse, no?

Indeed - the collection is at Google 3D warehouse, as stated on the site.

"The following manufacturers are pleased to offer SketchUp models in the Sweets3D Collection at Google 3D Warehouse"

The first key is sales...someone has to contact and sell the idea to the companies. Finding competent modelers would be the easy part. I think this would be an excellent opportunity for an "educated" salesman.

I found this very interesting when a client sent me the link a few months ago. Sweets has been slowly dying for years because of the internet, now the internet(Google) partners with them...?
