Scaling from 1:1 to 1:200
-
Hi all,
I'm pretty bad with sketchup at the moment but the summary is this:
I have a 1:1 2d sketchup site plan imported from digimap. I need to scale the site plan from 1:1 to 1:200 (and indeed would like to know how to scale to various other extents if possible).
Is this a simple process? I'm familiar with the scale tool and appreciate that I can select all of the 2d plan, but have no idea how to do what I need to do.
Many thanks in advance.

You really need to work 1:1 in SketchUp; I can't imagine how difficult it would be actually working at any other scale. You can always set the scale of any pdfs or dwgs exported from SU in the export options for that file type (2D exports only).
If for some reason you do need to scale down to 1:200, simply select all, start to shrink proportionally using one of the corner handles, type 0.005 and hit Enter.

Hi Alan,
Many thanks for that!
I live in Aigburth (just down the road from you, a small world eh!?).
I suppose really (please tell me if I'm stupid here) I'm wondering how you calculate the figure that you need to enter when scaling? Basic maths I'm sure?

1/200=0.005 so you just do your scale as normal, but with a "divide" instead of a ratio
