    Hi Guys,

While checking out the latest car scene I came across the BMW Concept X6. The blurb goes,
'Concept innovation of the world’s first Sports Activity Coupé'.
    http://www.motorauthority.com/news/concept-cars/revealed-bmw-x6-sports-activity-coupe-concept/

I imagine Porsche are thinking that this is how the Cayenne should look instead of an up-market VW Touareg. It will be interesting to see if they hold onto the Cayenne market once the X6 is launched.

The forum software has cut a lot of URL's short and thus their links aren't valid. Best way to avoid this is to select the URL option when posting, insert the URL and a word / description that highlights in the text, thus becoming hotlinked.

                Mike,
Your quite right about the Cayenne.
I've got a Touareg and for looks it beats the Porsche into a cocked hat, I've always felt that the Cayenne was a Porsche too far. The Audi Q7, which despite its apparent bulk is actually the same vehicle as the VW and the Porsche can be a bit of a looker in the right colour but I'm beginning to feel a change in the wind with regard to this type of car.

I'll usually do the complete opposite of what ever the media hyped popular consciousness of the moment is but even I'm having trouble justifying my current mode of transport, Its only a 2.5 diesel and although its about 25mm shorter and narrower than the BMW 535 I want it feels and looks a hell of a lot bigger.

The BMW X6 will find buyers with out any problem but I cant help thinking that it would have been better to have built it using the X3 as a base instead of the X5.

I could not agree with you more Paul. The X3 would have been the better platform but I imagine BMW still have a thing about the so called 'hairdressers' X3 and don't want to go down this road again
although the new 3.0 twin turbo diesels are spot on and probably too much for your average 'hairdresser' (hope we don't have any hairdressers here 😆 )

There was an interesting feature in this week's AutoCar on the 'New BMW X6', they even include some 2Ds (front / side views) of an X6
standing beside the X5. After viewing I am not to keen on the actual bulk of the X6. Its nearly as high as the X5 and it is longer! I will wait until I see one in the flesh ..... errrrr metal before making a final judgement.

I'll be holding onto what I have to the time being until I see a decent 'eco' car that will meet my needs. Oh!, after a long wait I will have my Fuoco on the 25th Sept, so will be able to lessen my CO2 footprint on short journeys at least.

                    Hi folks.

Watch you head when going in or out of the back seat, the roof drops quite sharply at the back.

                    Just ideas.
