2 great finds...

...and one failed search:
Today I discovered Jan's "zoom to selected" ruby (thank you very much, Jan, for this "easy" I've often needed) and noticed I could set one of my mouse thumb buttons to "ctrl" (which makes all the copy with tools mouse only now), but couldn't find the "lose the damn pencil and always gimme the select arrow" ruby (a little help with that...?, please and thank you).
Anybody else care to share some swell little tricks or couldn't do withouts...sure to be new to someone (like me, for instance :`)

It's almost embarrasing after having used SketchUp for so long, but some time ago while preparing a SketchUp class for some coworkers, I discovered that pressing the arrow keys locks transform to the different axes. I will surely use this quite often.

Jan, no need for embarrasment - afaik this function was not there in version 5 (pro). When the free version of SU 5 was released, they already incorporated this function but it was only added to the pro version when SU 6 came out (and from now on the two programs are already "identical" as they have only limited the vector based exporters - and the Location on Win).

Tom you could set another key on your mouse (if you have one spare) to Space which will give you the Select Arrow.

Tom
"select at startup', free from smustard is the ruby you're looking for.

Jenu, yes...five button, I've set them to keystrokes before but forget to use them (and then forget what they are :`) but I don't think I'll forget using this for ctrl+
And yes, thanks a bunch Jeremy...this should stop some Team SU ears from burning sometimes.

I'm pretty sure SelectatStart.rb only works with SU6. Like Tom, I'm a 5 guy.
-
Yeah, Ron, but you only need it on 6...hey, believe it or not I'm giving 6 another try on the new machine: plan to use nothing else unless/until I get fed up again...?

And many thanks to Rick W, of course, for "selectatstart" and many other fine scripts!
