      Hi Krisbern -

yes it is possible for a small fee (I believe it's $50). If you have any problems, please PM me and I'll do what I can to help you out.

        Hi Guys,

I did not realise that Google was charging $50 for the change to a Mac version. I am inclined to think that it should really be free. The reason I am saying this is because I have changed a number of my licenses from Win to Mac (were available) and was not charged for the 'swap' as it was considered that it was a request from a single licensee!

And what if I have a PC desktop anda Macbook at the same time? I should be able to run SU on several machines (provided I don't do it at the same time).

It could very well be a policy change then.

Yes, that used to be the way it worked if I remember correctly.

Yeah, this "extra" $50 could be acceptible if you could get an "extra" key for for your Mac machine still keeping the PC one. πŸ˜’

The idea of being permitted to have SU installed on different machines but only being allowed to run SU on one at a time has always confused me. If the machines are not networked or on-line, what prevents one from running SU on different machines simultaneously?

For example, at some point, I'll be buying a Mac laptop but I'll keep using my current Vaio laptop, so I'll have two. Why couldn't I run SU on both of my laptops at the same time? By the way, I am a single person office and always will be.

Yes that's true, Ron. I suppose you only need to be online until you validate your license and then being offline you could use it on multiple machines simultaneously. Well...

In my case, I'd like to have SU on both laptops. This gives me time to learn the Mac and still be able to do work on my Sony. But as I type this, I'm wondering that if I were to get a Mac desktop instead of a laptop, then it would be necessary to have SU on my Sony laptop for out of office meetings.

                      Just musings from a guy.......

Well, you can always install the free version on one of them and "learn" the differences for unlimited time. Really only the 3d and 2d-vertor exporters (and LO of course) are the only difference.

Good point. I'll use the free version.

Craig we are not talking about help (that we do appreciate so please don't misunderstand) but the "official system" and "theories".

Anyway, the whole discussion is a bit "academic" here - though obviously there might be some people concerned.

No worries guys. I don't mean to say that my online help/support was free help...I feel that we've mutually helped each other, and like I've said before it is my honor to help out the SketchUp community! πŸ˜„

What I meant is that if you're having trouble getting what you want, be it another license or a switch platform license, then I can usually help.

                                  It's all good.

Oh, and by the way; I hope everyone is having a productive and fun start to 2008!! The SketchUp team is psyched up for the coming year!

                                  Cheers,
