Is there a way to select 2 items and have them snap together? Say I want to place a door knob on the door..Is it right on the x, then the y, and the z..It drives me crazy...

There is not a command that will automatically snap to objects together... maybe a ruby?

I am not sure where you are having a problem however. Can you not just move the knob component by an endpoint and place it on the face of your door?

well, it seems like when ever I try to place something I get it to close and it goes into the door or wall (for a window)...Guess I should try it sober... πŸ˜†

If you set the appropriate face of the knob component to glue to a vertical plabe, it won't go into the door but rather sticks to its surface (if it is a component, you need to be within its context).
