Autosave/Create Backup

Hi All!

I have a problem with the Autosave feature.
I put it on 30 mins to autosave and create backup. then after a couple of hours working i accidentally closed and declined to save. I noticed a second later of course, happily try to open the backup file just to see that there is none, no autosave either.
Anyone ever had this problem? It did not autosave, the model is just as it was when i started.
Am i misunderstanding the word Autosave or is there a Glitch that if you are so stupid to make a mistake (being human )there is nothing that protects you?

i think the autosave fature is only there to cover your back if SU crashes or your PC crashes. Although it deletes it to the recycle bin, so go through your recycle bin and it should be there!

I feared thought it would be something like that.
Unfortunately i was working on a file on the sever, hence no recycling bin!
