Hi y'all,
This is a display unit for a shop I'm working on that's built to look like a library.
Many thanks to Ron for his priceless moldings collection.
I hope you find it useful.Cheers

Gidon,
What are those little, brown pieces on the lower shelf in the first image?
Have you left some chocolate pieces there from your last work?
Nice shelves, though - I'm planning to refurnish my flat; they might be handy!
-
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
-
Once again, thank you
-
Gidon - Thank you very much. I've been looking for just such a bookshelf design for my own home - c 1890 - for some time. It fits with other cupboards I already have. Love the ladder and the little stool.
Where did the inspiration come from?
Those splayed legs on the second piece remind me of a stove I modelled recently.
Thanks again.

Csaba - I pretty sure those brown diamonds are the upolstery on a small pull-out bench. Bernard calls it a "stool" but I don't like that name as it is associated with other brown stuff.
Gidon --- well done!
Regards, Ross

Yes Ross, with a closer scrutiny I also saw the pattern.
Well, I didn't know about this "transitive" or "added" meaning of the word - all I knew was that a stool is a kind of a chair with no back (or a bar stool for instance). You always learn something every day...
-
Sorry Gsaba -- Stool has another meaning.
Sorry Gidon - for taking this off-topic. Now to get back on: What is the library furniture being made of?
-
Ross, the unit will be made of Mahagony, mostly veneer on MDF with solid Mahagony parts where needed.
And may I take this opportunity to thank you, Ross, for all that I have learned from you. Your contribution to my SU education through tutorials and tips is immeasurable.
I cannot thank you enough. -

The inspiration came from a library I saw in Jerusalem at the home of a friend of the family who collects rare books, so that I cannot really take credit for the design.
