Model blackout on select

About 3 weeks ago, I started having a problem in the free version of SU6. I have not changed any configurations in SU or in my PC. When I sweep left to right to select, the entire model turns black. It also happens sometimes (but not as often)when I triple click to select. I have to save, close and reopen SU to get my model back. This doesn't seem to happen if I use the edit, select all menu. It doesn't matter what model I have open, it has happened on a simple one face model.
