Incorrect scale when importing DWG. from Illustrator
-
%(#0080FF)[Hello everybody..
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but when I import dwg. files made in Adobe Illustrator (and exported as such) into SketchUp, they do not open up with the correct dimensions. The shapes are correct and everything is fine except for the scale which comes out so much larger than it is supposed to be.
How do I get the file to open up with the scale correct as well?]

Hi there...
Are you using the options dialogue when importing? There is an option to import the dwg file with the different units. Make sure it is set the same as your original dwg was set.

If the units are set up correctly and it still doesn't import properly it is very simple to rescale. Apologies if you know this already, but simply use the measure tool to measure between 2 known points and then type what that distance should be e.g if the width of a house was 6m and the measure tool was initially scaling it at 600m then simply type 6m after clicking between the 2 points. It will ask if you want to rescele the model, click yes and you are done. I often find I get CAD files at different scales and do this a lot.

Thanks a lot Gaieus..
I found the options menu on the importing prompt and switched it over to mm (it was in feet lol)..And thanks to Kenny too..
I figured out how to do it your way as well and it is a really handy tool. Still learning.. -
