Open multiple files
-
I know you can open multiple sketchups, I'd like to open multiple file while in sketchup, like you can in almost every other program.

I open multiple files (instances of SU) once in a while and did notice that certain plug-ins don't work in both instances. For example, Space Design only works in the instance that was started first. If you try to fire it up in the second it tells you you're not allowed. Having multiple files open in one instance would solve that, it seems.

If you mean that you'd like to open different SU files in the SAME window, then you can't.

This is a test. I registered last Wednesday, yet the above post shows me as "not yet registered"
Edit: All's well. Maybe there was a forum update/maintenance I missed.

We are manually updating all posts. I will switch yours over now. No worries, we will get them all eventually.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but you can have multiple instances of SU open at the same time.
Unfortunately if you have a network license you cannot open more instances than you have licenses. We have a 3 seat network at our office and we have 5 people who will potentially be using SU. Makes it a pain when I want to copy and paste. Maybe we need a couple more seat

This has always been possible on the Mac version of SU.

Could you download some copies of the free version? I know network installations get complicated and may block that option, but it's an idea.

SU will open a non licenced version when this happens so it is more of an annoyance than anything. With my single user licence at home it is not an issue.

While we could use both versions simultaneously with v.5 this is not possible with v.6.
If you have enough machines though, you can install the free version on one/some of them and work there when you need multiple instances of SU running on the same computer.
