[Tutorial > Modeling] dome with pendents and latern
-
Well, this is just a silent movie how a dome with pendents and a latern builds up step by step. (Some secs needed for total download...)

Have fun...
Edit:
I finally made the "tut version" of it, too: jump to the post [url=http://www.sketchucation.com/community/forums/suc/viewtopic.php?p=8798#p8798] -
Gai, that is a nice little video but you don't show how the shapes were created. They just seem to appear.
-
that is soooo sweet Gai... love it...

I know, Eric - this is truely not a "how do I make a dome with wall thickness" tut but just something I used at art history class - obviously commented verbally - for art students, not SU users. Maybe one day I'll do it with a SU tut.
-
Got it. I still think it is cool.
-
A tutorial for that would be good Gaieus, if you get time!
-
OK Guys, I'll consider. It would then also mean "how to make a dome" things, too. Lots of Follow me and intersections and such things.
Maybe even photos of existing domes as examples (after all I jumped into SU to reconstruct archaeological finds on one hand and to demonstrate architectural structures in art history classes on the other... ) -
OK Guys,
I made a tut of the whole process. I only link it here for it is 1.6 Mb but if I ask Coen whether (only) tuts of bigger sizes can go up I'll also upload it to the archive.
Here we go:

Thanks Gai, it is a fantastic tutorial and I learnt a lot from it. My projects can only get better thanks to you and the others that take the time and trouble to pass your knowledge on. Once again Thank you very much.

Thanks Bill - but it was really (merely) just some art history lesson. All the others who forced me to make the tut deserve the credits...
