New Extension Preview: Automating LED Walls, Trussing & Projectors for AVL Drafting
-
Hi everyone,
We are Dseconds, a small indie development project focused on creating automation tools for the AVL (Audio, Video, Lighting) and event production industry inside SketchUp.
As layout requirements for events, corporate stages, and immersive spaces become increasingly complex, too much time is wasted calculating grid physics and manually drafting components—like pixel-perfect LED walls or structural truss arrays. We developed this extension to shift the focus from repetitive drafting to pure design.
We are currently in the final stages of developing our PRO version and wanted to share a preview with this community to get technical feedback from professionals who face these workflow bottlenecks daily.
Key features of the extension:
- Automated LED Wall Grid Generation: Instantly layout panels based on custom cabinet dimensions and aspect ratios without overloading SketchUp's polygon budget.
- Truss & Rigging Snap Systems: Smart, light-component arrays for structural designs.
- Performance-First Geometry: Keeps file sizes low by utilizing optimized instances, making large-scale event models responsive.
Since SketchUcation is the benchmark for advanced SketchUp development, we are looking for anonymous beta testers, exhibition architects, stage designers, and AVL technicians who would be interested in stress-testing the tool and helping us refine the feature set.
If you deal with heavy event models or tedious staging layouts and want to check out the beta, let us know here or via PM!
Best regards,
The Dseconds Team
