"have exceeded my allowed activations" (Fix?)

I "have exceeded my allowed activations" comes up when I try to open Sketchup. If I follow the instructions and sign out and sign in again as it requests, does not work as I have signed in and out many times. How do I rectify please?
I have restarted my computer after closing all SU applications to no avail
