Hello. I'm new to Sketchup. I've learned the basic tools, but I would like to make more organic objects Like a flowers, or certain types of food. I want to be able to create my own objects without relying on 3dwarehouse.

I'm an artist wanting to create pieces for commercial use. It would be too difficult to try get permission from each 3dwarehouse creator. I've searched high and low for tutorials but it's difficult to find them.

Could anyone point me in the right direction or give me any advice on if I'm wasting my time trying to figure out out?

For that kind of objects I would reccomend to use Vertex Tools/ Sub-d and also Artisan.
You can find plenty of tutorials on the plugins websites and also on youtube.
Depending of the kind of models you are after, you may want to also have a look into Curviloft and Extrusion tools.
