      Hello,
I just got a laser engraver (Xtool D1) and design and then export .dxf files from Sketchup pro. Their software (Laserbox Basic) does seem to recognize my shapes as closed so I can't use their "fill" option to fill/engrave in between the lines. This is what I heard back from the Xtool FB group: "it's likely that your original isn't being recognized as closed. The lines need to be welded so they are actually connected." I have tried different export options without success. I'm looking for some advice regarding Polylines with width, Wide line entities, etc. Thanks.

You should try welding the lines with a plugin before exporting: Tig welding, Curvizard and/or whatever you find in the plugin store for welding edges.
